The Institute of Medical Engineering at the University of Lübeck (IMT, director: Prof. Dr. T. M. Buzug) has an opening for a

PhD Position
(salary scale 13 TV-L/67%)

for three years focused on medical image reconstruction and to be filled as soon as possible at 67% of a full-time position.

The main research competences of the IMT (http://www.imt.uni-luebeck.de/institute.html) is on medical and technical imaging using tomographic techniques, including the development of image reconstruction algorithms, signal pre- and post-processing methods, and front-end electronics.

The successful candidate will join the team of Prof. Dr. M. Rafecas and participate in a research project devoted to image reconstruction for Compton cameras within the frame of dose monitoring in particle therapy.

We are looking for motivated and highly qualified candidates with serious interest in medical imaging. Applicants should hold a degree in physics, engineering, computer sciences, mathematics or equivalent disciplines. Good written and verbal communication skills in English are required. Previous experience in tomographic reconstruction, imaging with ionizing radiation, or particle therapy is desirable.
